Default Ranger Solo Famine/Pet Idea

Hey,

I've been throwing around the idea in my head of using Famine to solo groups with a ranger. The most obvious way to do this would be to tank with AV/SV. Obviously you're not going to want to go in there yourself since your armor is not that high and you don't have a lot of defenses, but why not send your pet in?

A lot of the ranger pet skills resemble monk skills, so they can definately help you keep your pet alive for long enough to drain the monsters' energy, at least in theory.

So here's a rough outline of a build:
R/Me
Expertise: 7 = 4 + 3
Beast Mastery: 13 = 10 + 3
Wilderness Survival: 15 = 11 + 4
Illusion Magic: 9

Skills:
The core:
-Ancestor's Visage
-Sympathetic Visage
-Famine
Keep pet alive:
-Comfort Animal
-Symbiotic Bond
-Call of Protection
-Charm Animal
Keep you alive:
-Troll Unguent

Equipment: Weapon of Enchanting +20%, +Energy armor

I don't have access to GW right now so I can't test this, but the basic idea would be to set up Famine, Call of Protection, and Symbiotic Bond, send your pet into a group of monsters (preferably so as to body-block them away from you), cast AV/SV on your pet, and then spam Comfort Animal and maintain AV/SV. Troll Unguent is there in case Symbiotic Bond is doing too much damage.

The main problem I foresee is energy management, to which end Symbiotic Bond or Call of Protection could be substituted with Ether Signet or Energy Drain with a point taken out of Beast Mastery for 2 more in Expertise and 3 in Inspiration Magic.

Anyone think this could work?

Wow, I feel stupid. I'll edit the skills to fix that.

A solo UW build using ranger. Feel free to take ideas from there. I'd like to see a new famine build though, so if you're able to get it done it would be great .
